MILLS E. BARBEE

Born: March 30,1946, in Memphis, TN.
Personal: Grew up in Hernando, MS, and graduated from Hernando High School, 1964.  Wife, Laurie (Allen) Barbee, daughters Ashleigh and Brittany.
Undergraduate: University of Mississippi, Bachelor of Public Administration.
Law School: Mississippi College School of Law (formerly Jackson School of Law), Juris Doctorate, January 1972.
Professional: Admitted to practice law in Mississippi April 1972; law clerk for Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Stokes Robertson July 1, 1972, through June 30, 1973; member of Walker, Franks, Rone, Bridgforth and Woods law firm 1973-1978; partner in Ballard and Barbee 1978-1980; elected DeSoto County=s first County Court Judge in June 1980 and served until retiring from that office December 2006; joined Myers Graves, PLLC January 2007.
Member: DeSoto County and Mississippi Bar Associatons.
As County Court Judge: Presided over Youth Court, Civil, Criminal, Special Court of Eminent Domain, and other jurisdictional matters; served as Special Circuit Court Judge; served a two year term as Chairman of the Conference of County Court Judges, speaker at New Judges Seminars 2002 and 2006 on the subject of Eminent Domain; received Commissioner=s Award from the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services April 2005; received the 2006 Most Distinguished Juvenile Justice Professional Award from the Mississippi Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee.
